CUSTOMIZED TOURS. TRAVEL IN COMFORT. ESCAPE THE HERD.
PRIVATE GROUPS OF 6-7 PASSENGERS--
TWO VANS TO CHOOSE FROM: MINIVAN OR LIMOVAN.
4 HOUR MINIMUM TO BOOK.
Tours are offered at private hourly rates to explore the sights at your own pace. Hourly rates begin with a minimum booking of 4 hours. We offer a vehicle rate (not a per person rate) of $150 per hour by Dodge Grand Caravan minivan or upgrade to our full size Ford Dabryan LUXURY LIMO VAN for $225 per hour (plus 5% city tax).
EACH TOUR IS PERSONALIZED FOR YOUR GROUP. All private tour options are unique and tailored to your group's pace and interests. Your driver will do their best to keep you away from the crowds and will find pull outs with fewer buses and cars so you can savor a herd-free experience. We do our very best to give you a more authentic experience for a tour you will never forget! ESCAPE THE HERD!
SEARCH FOR WILDLIFE WITH AN ACTUAL LOCAL. The deeper you drive into the interior, the greater the opportunity to spot wildlife. Traveling in a smaller vehicle allows for stops in places the big buses cannot, and allows for tight u-turns to go back and check out wildlife along the way. As a true local, your guide is an excellent spotter of wildlife and knows the area like the back of their hand, which means we won't get fooled by that stump or culvert that looks like a bear; that happened ages ago! Now, you can focus on real wildlife sightings like a pro.
If Sherry is not available you will be in great hands with other hand picked Skagwegians full of local color and perspectives not possible from out of town guides or from someone who has never spent a winter in Skagway. Sherry is incredibly picky and would rather turn away business than send you out with just any ol' guide; my clients deserve the best!

TOURS PICK UP/DROP OFF NEAR YOUR SHIP'S PIER OR ANYWHERE IN TOWN.
DEPARTURE TIME
Skagway Private Tours can help you plan your day to take advantage of windows of less traffic and avoidable delays. Morning tours depart at 7:30 to get us out ahead of the mass exodus of tour vans, buses, freight traffic, and rental cars. 8-9:30 is a major excursion departure time and the road can become quite busy and leaving during that time frame could cost 45+ minutes of driving and stopping time due to road traffic and customs delays. Your driver keeps in mind outside elements that can easily be avoided to ensure more time at stops. Morning departures are 7:30 and afternoon departures typically are 2:30 for the 3 & 4 hour options. We never run tours right up to a ship's all aboard time and always try to allow at least 1.5 hrs buffer before sailing.

SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS
By choosing to support a LOCAL business, you are contributing to the ability of your driver to live and thrive in the land they love. Whether or not you choose Skagway Private Tours as your excursion option while in Skagway, please choose from one of Skagway's local independent operators while in our port. On-board Alaskan shore excursion purchases enrich the coffers of large cruise line corporations leaving only a small percentage in the hands of local operators. Independent tour purchases keep the bulk of the money flowing in the local community and help boost the economy of grateful Alaskans, enabling them to make a living in a place with limited opportunities. If Skagway Private Tours is booked on the day you request, we will provide you with contact information for other independent operators here in Skagway; we are all friends and support each other's success. You too can support TEAM SKAGWAY. Thank you for thinking outside of the box and supporting local Alaskan entrepreneurs.
please fill out the contact information below for tour inquiries. feel free to call or text 907-612-0291.

*******TRIBAL LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT******
Skagway Private Tours operates on the stolen/stampeded lands of the Tlingit people and acknowledges the members of the Skagway Traditional Council with gratitude and respect for this privilege as we share the beauty and history of this great region with guests from all over the world. As we climb out of Lingit Aani we enter the lands of the Taku River Tlingit peoples and move into Carcross Tagish First Nations tribal lands. Skagway Private Tours acknowledges this use and respectfully intends to present visitors with an authentic and a more honest representation of this area's rich history and in a manner that is congruent with the wishes of the tribal governing bodies.
My intention is to honorably respect the history of this great region and it's peoples by realistically presenting the history and truth without glamorizing the tragedies that have occurred in the years since missionaries and stampeeders came uninvited at the expense of the land and it's inhabitants. The Gold Rush is not to be glamorized nor lauded as it was a forceful takeover of land and original peoples. As a 48 year resident in this region the owner Sherry Corrington gives thanks to the original stewards of these regions and vow to represent my home in an honorable manner with respect to the First Nations groups who came before us all and on the land that was taken from them.
I will do my best to share Tlingit words for the animals and places as I learn them and will be adding more each year with this intention. I also vow to only choose guides who will uphold this most sacred task in their own honorable way. Born and raised "skagwegian" Du Aaní Kawdinook Xh'unei (aka Lance Twitchell) said to the first ever Lingit language class in Skagway "I don't care what your back ground or heritage, for every word in Tlingit you learn you help undo what was done and you help put back what was taken." Let us join the mission to do this one word at a time; one tour at a time. Gunalcheesh!
