"DOG IS THE COPILOT":
Tours with an alaskan husky
Dogs are an iconic part of Alaskan History and life. From the Iditarod Sled Dog race to our own homes dogs are a major part of Alaskan culture. Skagway Private Tours celebrates these great souls with some exclusive tour options for dog lovers. Owner Sherry Corrington grew up with sled dogs in her early years. Her father ran in the 1976 Iditarod Sled Dog race where he won...the red lantern award for last place! Sherry has also driven twice up to the Iditarod, once to the Knik 200 Sled Dog Race, and has helped with three Yukon quest starts with Yukon Musher Michelle Phillips as a handler/helper. She also volunteers with Paws and Claws Animal Shelter in Skagway helping with rescue puppies and dogs which is how she ended up with Jedi, a foster fail and total score!

dog mushing tours
Tours to the Yukon Border, Carcross and Emerald Lake all go by Tagish Lake Kennels summer training camp near Lake Tushi. Drop ins are possible on most tours. Admission/cart rides are paid onsite. If you would like to do just a quick stop to pet puppies and sled dogs we can add a stop on most tours depending on time. If you wish to add a cart ride we would need and extra hour or so on regular tours to have enough time. Let us know if you are interested in this option!
