Experience the thrill of the race and the love of dogs as we travel up to the Yukon border and meet Iditarod musher Michelle Phillips and her team of lovable athletes. Discover for yourself why Michelle is known for her friendly team and positive spirit. Michelle has run the Iditarod 12! times plus she took 2nd in the Yukon Quest race in 2019 so she is the real deal. Your Skagway Private Tours owner rode up to the Iditarod 2020 & 2022 and the Knik 200 as a handler for Michelle and has also helped at the start of 3 Yukon Quests and looks forward to sharing her own Iditarod ties sharing stories about her father who ran the race in 1976. Michelle uses her summer dog camp to keep her dogs in shape in the off season by offering cart rides to visitors. It's a joy to see the dogs in action and you will have plenty of time to pet puppies and sled dogs while you wait for your cart ride with Michelle. Tour is approx 5 hours with multiple photo stops. 100 miles roundtrip.
